In order to promote his new documentary Encounters at the End of the World, Werner Herzog appeared on Conan last night, but ended up talking mostly about eating a shoe cooked by Alice Waters, and getting shot in the abdomen during an interview and brushing it off.
(thanks for the tip, Amrit)
Wait a second, there are more than 700 channels available through Time Warner Cable and there isn’t a channel dedicated to Werner Herzog? Just footage of him wandering around, teaching people how to be men? A rare miss, Time Warner.

It’s rare for a director to appear on late night talk shows, but it seems whenever Herzog gives an interview, it’s always the same questions: “How did you eat your shoe?” “What was it like getting shot?” “Didn’t jumping into a cactus hurt?” I’m glad Conan actually took some time out to talk about his new movie. Looks good.
Is quality documentation the price we have to pay to see Werner Herzog being shot on camera instead of Heidi & Spencer?
